Position Summary

CRNCY is seeking a Head of Engineering with a robust technical background and a proven ability to lead. The ideal candidate began their career as a full-stack engineer, developed a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, and has progressed into a technical leadership role. We’re looking for someone who can roll up their sleeves and contribute to the codebase while also scaling a high-performing engineering team and driving key technical decisions.

Key Responsibilities

·         Partner with the CEO and leadership team to define and execute CRNCY’s technology strategy.

·         Lead and grow a multidisciplinary engineering team.

·         Drive architectural decisions and hands-on development of mission-critical systems.

·         Oversee the evaluation, selection, and implementation of a new core lending platform.

·         Architect and lead the custom development of an A.I.-powered credit decisioning and underwriting engine.

·         Guide the selection and integration of a next-generation A.I. Contact Center platform.

·         Establish best practices across software development, deployment, and maintenance.

·         Act as a key member of the leadership team, providing clear technical guidance to non-technical stakeholders.

Key Experience & Skills

We are looking for a mid-level engineering leader with at least 7–10 years of experience and a strong growth trajectory. The following competencies are critical:

·         Software Architecture: Proven experience designing scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.

·         System Integration: Hands-on experience integrating multiple software systems and third-party                   services.

·         Build vs. Buy Evaluation: Strong judgment in assessing, selecting, and implementing third-party                 and custom-built solutions.

·         A.I. Development: Familiarity with A.I. applications, particularly in Contact Center automation and               credit risk modeling.

·         Delivery Leadership: Demonstrated success delivering high-quality software solutions and                        managing end-to-end project lifecycles.

·         Startup & Growth-Stage Experience: Thrives in lean, fast-moving environments with a bias for                   action.
