The Corporate Accountant owns the day-to-day accounting for the group's centralized and non-operating entities and the integrity of intercompany activity across the group. The role runs the close for its assigned entities, owns intercompany reconciliation as a control across all entities, prepares and issues intercompany recharges, and executes, documents and records the movement of cash between entities, including the group dividend chain and entity funding transfers. The role also owns a defined programme of remediation: converting the remaining cash-basis entities to accrual accounting, segregating restricted funds, and bringing every entity's chart of accounts and intercompany records to a standard the group consolidation and an external audit can rely on. It supports the Director of Finance in meeting the group's regulatory, central bank, tax and statutory reporting obligations.

Primary Duties and Responsiblites:

Entity Accounting & Close

Perform the full accounting cycle for assigned entities: transaction booking, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments, month-end close and standalone financial statements. Assigned entities are CRNCY Management LLC, CRNCY Capital, Inc., Acuity Holdings Ltd, CRNCY (KY) Limited and CRNCY (LC) Limited and others as may arise.

Own the group close calendar: set the timetable, publish it, and hold each entity to its dates. Deliver all close outputs on the dates set, raising any risk to a deadline in advance.

Prepare the standalone reporting packages and the intercompany elimination schedules that support group consolidation, with audit-ready support and written desk procedures that allow another preparer to run the close in this role’s absence.

Intercompany Recharges & Balances

Prepare and issue intercompany invoices for recurring recharges, applying the allocation basis and markup set out in the relevant agreement, consistently from period to period.

Tag every intercompany entry at the point of entry with counterparty entity, agreement reference and currency, and confirm the mirrored entry is booked at the counterparty in the same period.

Operate intercompany agreement of balances as a hard close step: the month is not closed until every intercompany pair agrees, or the break is logged, quantified and assigned an owner and a resolution date.

Reconcile intercompany balances monthly across all group entities, produce an aged schedule of unmatched differences and drive each to resolution. No difference carries forward unexplained into a second month.

Maintain the register of intercompany agreements and escalate any recurring charge not supported by a current agreement.

Intercompany Cash Movement & Funding

Execute the group dividend chain: prepare the supporting calculations and the distributable reserves analysis for approval by the Director of Finance, confirm the required corporate approvals are in place, compute any withholding due, and book each leg at both the paying and the receiving entity.

Prepare intercompany funding requests and transfer instructions, setting out purpose, amount, currency, counterparty and the agreement or resolution relied upon, for approval by the Director of Finance.

Record both legs of every transfer in the period in which it occurs, confirm the resulting balances mirror across entities, and maintain the transfer log and supporting documentation to a standard that will stand up to audit and tax review.

Monitor available cash against funding requirements and flag shortfalls or trapped excess cash to the Director of Finance. This role prepares and records cash movements; it carries no payment initiation or payment approval authority.

Group Consolidation, Accounting Standards & Remediation

Own the mechanics of the group consolidation under US GAAP: elimination schedules, intercompany matching, foreign currency translation, and the reconciliation of consolidated equity and net income to the sum of the underlying entities.

Convert the remaining cash-basis entities to accrual accounting, including recognition of intercompany fee receivables when invoiced rather than when cash is received, and document the conversion and its opening balance effects.

Segregate restricted and third-party funds into dedicated bank and ledger accounts, and reconcile each to a bank statement monthly.

Remediate the chart of accounts across assigned entities: no valued account without a GL code, no intercompany balance without a named counterparty, and a consistent account structure across entities.

Prepare and maintain transfer pricing documentation supporting the group’s intercompany charges, including the basis of allocation and the markup applied, for review by the Director of Finance and external advisors.

Bring the group consolidation to a state an external auditor can sign, and hold it there.

Regulatory, Tax & Compliance Support

Maintain the group compliance calendar as a tracking tool covering every regulatory, central bank, tax and statutory obligation for assigned entities; circulate upcoming deadlines and status to the Director of Finance on a set cadence; and keep the archive of submitted returns, workpapers and confirmations retrievable for audit.

Prepare the underlying data and draft schedules for periodic central bank and regulatory returns, including the MLR, for review, approval and submission by the Director of Finance.

Assemble supporting data packages and draft workpapers for tax filings and for corporate and statutory maintenance, including annual returns, registered agent requirements and economic substance obligations, and act as day-to-day contact for external advisors, auditors and registered agents.

Track filing deadlines and chase the internal inputs each submission depends on, so that no filing is delayed for want of information.

Prepare withholding tax calculations on cross-border intercompany payments and dividends before payment is made. The Director of Finance owns all technical tax positions and approves every filing; escalate questions of treatment or interpretation rather than resolving them independently.

Systems, Policy & Audit Support

Support the group’s migration to NetSuite, including intercompany and entity setup for assigned entities and the design of the intercompany and chart-of-accounts structure carried into the new system. This element of the role is expected to represent approximately 20% of working time during the implementation.

Administer the Group Expense Management Policy, which is owned by the Director of Finance: maintain the current version, answer interpretation questions, and log and report exceptions.

Support internal and external audits across all entities with reconciliations, documentation and timely responses to information requests.

Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
